Kurt Illetschko

Kurt Illetschko’s involvement with franchising and small business started in 1975 when he became a franchisee. He progressed to franchisor and franchise consultant before selling his business interests to devote all his time and energy to the advancement of franchising. In addition to lecturing widely on the topic and contributing articles to leading business magazines and websites, Kurt has written and/or co-written a series of books on franchising and small business. His publishers include Hodder Education and Greenleaf Publishing in the UK, Butterworths and Frontrunner (now Bookstorm) in South Africa. Kurt also writes “how to” manuals for the Franchise Association of South Africa of which he is a life member and has produced operations manuals and disclosure documents for franchisors in South Africa, Botswana and Kenya. Kurt left his native Austria 40 years ago to live permanently in Johannesburg. During this period, his passion for franchising and small business has not waned one bit and he is always willing to offer advice to those wishing to enter this exciting sector.
